Reckoning, pt.1

So, how are we doing?
Thirty posts, and… nine? Yeah, nine that don’t completely suck.
Which is way more than the “once per fortnight” I was expecting, and way way WAY more than my previous semiyearly average. So, hey. Progress.
I expected more doodles. Maybe next month.

Stayed home sick today. Generic sinus/throat infection, nothing big, but enough to put me down for a day or two. So today I read this, and most of this.
One book to go, and I’m kind of dreading it. That sense of… I’m not sure if i can actually describe it, but […]

After Shithead got reelected, that kinda soured me on politics for a long time, and all the big liberal blogs getting way too big, and therefore too dickish, didn’t help. Also I started thinking about tribalism, and specifically about how people get all into sports and celebrities and all kinds of random social accretions […]

Oh, yeah - that.
I put some time into Warcraft before; it started when I didn’t even have my filler job, when I could totally put fourteen hours a day into leatherworking if I felt like it, and, well, I did (of course, I was on dial-up back then, so it sort of evens out).
Where gratification […]

Puppetry

I pretty much never watch political speeches / events (except for debates). There’s never any point to prescripted big events, it’s all just “Yay America” for 90 minutes, nothing of substance, nothing of interest, no details, the only reasons to watch are so you can critique the level and intent of media manipulation, or […]

I read a lot, but like 99% of those words are taken in via burning phosphors. Since my entrance to Le Interweb - 96 or thereabouts - I rarely buy non-comic fiction, and almost never new authors, until I borrow one from somebody and stick to it like glue. So for the past […]
